When Winne got in touch with me about her wedding at The Ashford Estate, I was so excited about all the possibilities there were. They have an absolutely gorgeous barn for ceremonies, acres of pristine grounds and the Grand Ballroom is breathtaking. Winne really loved lush, romantic florals that reflect late summer and she wanted to balance out the formal setting with lots of romantic garden texture. To do this we brought in buckets of local flowers and foliage to include chocolate dahlias, cafe au lait dinner plate dahlias, eleagnus, plum branches, lisianthus, eucalyptus, and tardiva hydrangea, just to name a few. We mixed them with lush and textural blossoms like Princess Charlene of Monaco garden roses, polo roses, peach ranunculus, deep red astilbe to get a design that had ample movement and visual interest, but still felt soft and romantic.
