If you’ve ever been to Cape May, New Jersey then you’ve certainly seen Congress Hall. It is, after all, a sprawling, 200 year-old yellow hotel, right on the ocean- it’s pretty hard to miss! Truly a local icon, Congress Hall is a location that all couples planning a wedding “down the shore” will consider. For Maddie and John it proved to be the perfect site for their October nuptials. Together we designed an event that felt like a timeless garden party, even though guests were mere steps from the ocean the entire night! The Congress hall lawn was tented with a beautiful sail-cloth tent which we filled with beautiful garden-like details such as lush overflowing urns flanking the entrance, and a custom “hedge” wall to display the escort cards. Each tied around a welcoming glass of champagne, of course! If you love the beach, but fancy a wedding that’s more Garden Party than Barefoot on the Beach, this one’s for you!
