If you like your weddings with a bit of an “edge,” you’re going to love Leigh and Phil’s fall wedding at The Barnes Foundation. Leigh really gravitated towards dark, moody texture and colors. For her, the darker the better. Ultimately, we wanted a look that would complement the modern architecture of the space while bringing in tons of drama and still be able to show up in photograph. To bring their vision to life we designed a look that started with the darkest black dahlias, deep purple ranunculus and plum branches and balanced it with creamy whites, beiges and hints of raspberry to make it feel sophisticated. To really give it the a modern edge, we created a custom black and gold escort card wall that served two purposes. One to create a unique display for their escort cards and two provide a separation between the cocktail hour and the reception. My favorite element of the night was the 24 foot long mirrored King’s table that we layered with gold pillar candlesticks, black votives, and flowers everywhere. The entire design reflected back making every inch of the table jaw-dropping!
