We were so excited to be asked by Constellation Catering to be part of this year’s Love Is In The Air event at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, an amazing bespoke bridal event that is all about offering Philly couples the chance to get some major wedding inspiration by seeing the area’s best wedding vendors in action. Typically occuring early in the year, this is not a bridal event you guys want to miss!
We knew right away that for 2019’s event we wanted to design something that was unlike anything guests had seen before. We wanted a design that was fun, flirty and bold but also made attendees feel completely immersed in color, modern texture and sophisticated details. Because the space itself is neutral with lots of lush greenery we started with a base of black and gold and paired it with rich jewel tones to make the design really stand out. The jewel tones kept the florals from blending in with the greenhouse background and really jumped off of the deep richness of the black giving it such a sophisticated, modern feel.
Of course, one of the great design advantages of the Horticulture Center are it’s existing ceiling supports which just demand to be decorated with big, beautiful hanging pieces. To keep it fresh we diverged from the more natural, organic types of designs we’ve been seeing lots of lately and designed something new that was both lush and modern at the same time. And to keep the space feeling open and light for guests we focused the larger pieces over key focal points like the sweetheart table and dessert display while keeping the display over the dance floor light and airy with sweeping metallic gold tulle and individual blossoms showering down from the ceiling. Finally, to amplify everything, we used mirrored tables provided a double punch of color reflected in the table top.
